Subject: Important Update – Morning School Closure & Afternoon Schedule for Thursday, December 4, 2025

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
We are writing to provide notice and details regarding the morning closure of Margaret Twomey Public School on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
The Town of Marathon has advised that the water system serving the school and residents in the Penn Lake Subdivision will be turned off that morning. As a result, Margaret Twomey Public School will be closed for students for the morning only.
We anticipate that water service will be restored by midday and school will reopen for students at 12:00 p.m. Once the water supply is restored, potable water will be available for consumption.
Transportation
- Morning: There will be no morning bus transportation. Families are asked to arrange transportation for students to arrive at school for 12:00 p.m.
- Afternoon: Students who regularly ride the school bus will be transported home at the end of the school day as per the regular bus schedule.
Lunch & Adjusted Schedule
Because of the shortened school day, the school schedule will be adjusted for the afternoon. Families are asked to ensure that students have eaten lunch before arriving at school at 12:00 p.m., as there will be no regular lunch period prior to afternoon classes.
Elementary Volleyball Tournament
Students and staff attending the elementary volleyball tournament at Marathon High School on Thursday, December 4th may proceed to Marathon High School as scheduled and participate in the tournament.
We understand that these changes may require adjustments for families, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility and understanding. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and we will continue to share any updates if circumstances change.
